Metcal MX-UK5 Desoldering Hand-Piece Cord & Workstand Upgrade Kit for the MX-5000 Station

The Metcal MX-UK5 is an ESD-Safe, MX Series "Desolder Gun" Upgrade Kit. This kit is designed for use with any existing MX-Series Solder Systems. The MK-UK5 includes the MX-DS1 Desolder Gun Hand-Piece and the MX-W5DS Tip-Saver Work-Stand. The MX-DS1 is ideal for plated-through hole component desoldering. The hand-piece offers an ergonomic design, providing an easy to grip handle comfortable for high production rework. The MX-DS1 features a 70" (178cm) Cable length for an unmatched reach and the ability to desolder from nearly any angle. This iron requires (60 psi) Shop Air for Desoldering. The iron accepts the STDC Series Desoldering Cartridges. The included MX-W5DS features an integrated Auto-Sleep Function, which places the iron in sleep mode when entered into the magnetic cradle of the stand.

This function helps save the overall life of the tip or cartridges being used. The MX-W5DS also includes a yellow "wet" sponge (STSS-YS1) and a brass coil pad to clean the tip/cartridge inbetween each applications. The stand also features an adjustable cradle "angle", allowing the operator to select and lock the preferred angle of the tools placement. The angle adjustment can also provide a choice of configuration, to use the brass coil alone, the wet sponge alone or set-up the stand with both the coil cleaner and wet sponge together.
