Tronex Technology, a Desco Industries brand founded in 1982 near California's Silicon Valley, has spent over 35 years designing and manufacturing precision hand cutting tools and pliers specifically for the demanding requirements of electronics assembly, medical device manufacturing, and fine jewelry work. Every Tronex cutter and plier is proudly made in their Fairfield, California USA facility from high-grade alloy steel, individually tested at the factory, and backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship. The proprietary Razor Flush edge finish—machine ground to razor-sharp perfection with no bevel—produces cuts leaving virtually no raised surface or "pinch," critical for reliable solder joints and threading fine wire. Additional edge options include Flush for balanced precision and longevity, and Semi-Flush for maximum durability on thicker materials. Hard wire cutters feature Class W tungsten alloy steel (66-68 HRC) for cutting memory wire and Nitinol, and Class T tungsten carbide edges (79-81 HRC) for the most demanding applications including medical stents and guide wire. Pliers feature the exclusive bearing ring lap joint design for superior performance over rivet or box joint construction, with induction-hardened tips, slightly rounded inner jaw edges to prevent work piece damage, and stainless steel leaf springs.
