The CL8499 is an Manual Tip Cleaner Set, designed for minimizing Foreign Object Debris (FOD). The CL8499 is a complete cleaning system with integrated "Splash-Guard" and "Anti-Splash" Membrane, designed to keep the work area clean, free of solder particles and other FOD, which can cause catastrophic damage to sensitive components in critical applications. Using an effective debris-control device can greatly reduce the high cost of potential FOD damage and/or the potential for injury to personnel. This set includes a Brass Wool tip cleaner, which will leave a small layer of solder on the tip to prevent oxidation between cleaning and re-wetting. The Tip Wiper Tray is a temperature resistant receptacle that lets the operator remove excess solder by gently tapping or wiping the tip against an edge.
