Which soldering station do you have?

Each HAKKO tip series is built for a specific handpiece — using the wrong series can damage your equipment.

Not sure which station you have?

The model is usually printed on the front panel of the station or on the iron handle. Quick guide:

  • FX-888D / FX-888DX / FX-600 / FX-8801 → T18 (most common).
  • FX-951 / FM-203 / FM-204 / FM-205 / FM-206 → T15.
  • FX-888DX with FX-8806 95W iron → T32.
  • FX-100 (induction) → T31 (also pick the right temperature variant).
  • FX-971 / FX-972 / FX-973 → T39 (N₂ capable).
  • FX-8805 large iron → T19.

Match the shape to your application and workpiece access.

Shape selection tips
  • Chisel — the workhorse. Best heat transfer. Default for most soldering.
  • Conical — precision work, fine pitch, point access.
  • Bevel — controlled heat to one face, drag soldering, larger pads.
  • Knife — drag soldering long pin counts, SMD removal.
  • Bent — angled access in tight spaces.
  • Quad / Tunnel / Spatula (T15) — SMD component removal.

Pick the dimension that matches your components (and for T31, the right temperature).

Sizing notes

Tip diameter should roughly match the pad you're soldering. Too small wastes time; too large wastes heat onto neighbors.

For T31 (induction): the temperature code is part of the part number. 450°C is the most common for lead-free, 400°C for general, 350°C for low-temp / fine work.

This tip fits the following HAKKO handpieces.

Tip care: Clean tips with brass wool or a damp sponge. Keep tips tinned when not in use to extend tip life. Avoid excessive temperatures with lead-free solders.
