The Hakko FT720-03 is an ESD Housed Tip Cleaner. This unit will remove built up oxidation on soldering iron tips thus preserving tip life. The FT720-03 Functions similar to an electric pencil sharpener. First turn the solder iron off, immediately tin the oxidized tip with our special tip tinner, then immediately insert the solder iron tip into the FT720-03 opening. The system automatically turns on when it senses a tip inserted. This system comes equipped with two long-life Fluoroplastic Brushes (A5063), designed to minimize the temperature drop of the solder tip. These heads are easy to remove and replace, with optional Resin (A1566) or Metal (A1567) Brush Heads available.
