As Indicated through the CAS #106-94-5 on Safety Data Sheets, "nPB” is the short form for “Normal Propyl Bromide" or "1-Bromo-propane". It is the active element in the Bromothane™ cleaning fluids prepared by MicroCare, Techspray, Chemtronics and more.
Based on the component bromine, nPB was chosen by MicroCare to be the foundation upon which the Bromothane™ family of cleaners is built.
Once, lots of manufacturers prefer to utilize nPB as a cleaning fluid since:
- It is a flexible chemical and removes many kinds of contamination, like grease, fluxes, and oils, which helps maintain low costs;
- nPB is non-flammable;
- It is easy to use again and recycle, which helps to protect the environment and also to keep costs down;
- It has just the perfect combination of chemical, physical properties like specific gravity, viscosity, flash point, boiling point, etc. It makes it an excellent cleaner and simple to recycle and reprocess, which leads to a lower cost consumption.
So, using nPB lowers the cost in many ways in contrast to inflammable solvents like alcohols, or traditional cleaners like TCA, TCE, HCFC-141b, HCFC-225, CFC-113, perc, nearly all aqueous-based cleaning fluids.
