Our work spaces weren't made for us - they were made for everyone, which is why ergonomics plays an important role in the workplace today. Ergonomically designed products help prevent injury by adjusting the work space to the employee and reducing physical stress, strain, and discomfort. Sitting places more stress on the lower back than standing or lifting which is why BEVCO focuses on handcrafting chairs to your specific needs.
Once you've customized your BEVCO chair, you need to know to make the right adjustments to fully enjoy all of the ergonomic benefits.
Follow These Ergonomic Methods:
Sit up straight! Slouching puts unnecessary strain and pressure on your neck and back. By positioning the lumbar support in the natural curve of your spine, you can avoid incorrectly displacing your weight. Move your chair as close to your work as possible to avoid leaning/reaching. Readjust your chair back to the proper ergonomic position each time you return.
Make sure the weight of your arms is supported at all times. If your arms are not supported, the muscles of your neck and shoulders will do more work than they need to causing unnecessary pain, (you'll need to call your masseuse!). Always aim to rest your elbows at 90° and keep your wrists in a neutral position.
BEVCO has three different tilt options for every[body]. Tilting the seat pan forward can promote healthy spinal posture by relieving lower back pressure. This movement also contributes to spinal health by simulating blood flow. Getting into a reclined position of 100° to 110° will help keep your hips and spine aligned. Maintaining a stable, neutral posture is important, especially when sitting.
Adjust the height of your chair so your feet are flat on the ground and your legs are at a 90° angle. For taller work applications, use a footrest so your feet do not dangle. This improves lower body circulation and your legs won't fall asleep!
