All right. Today, we're going to install Desco's mat grounding kit. This is a green wire, so it has no resistor in it. This is our dome style snap. The packaging for the hardware includes instructions on how to install it.
So, we're going to get started by putting a hole in the mat. For that, we use a Phillip's screwdriver. And just push a hole through the mat, like so. Then we'll pick out a screw. We're going to use the short screw, because this is a thinner mat. The longer screw is used for a thicker mat. We'll work from the backside. And we take our countersunk washer, put it on the back, our short screw.
If we want to shorten the cord, we can cut it, strip it, and use our additional ring terminal to do so. But for now, we're just going to show this being connected to an equipment ground.
