Hi I'm Paul Blair swab & wipe manager here at Chemtronics. I would spend a few minutes just talking to you about the wipe products we have here at Chemtronics.
We'll start with our highest performing wipes, which is our microfiber and the micro fiber is at 50% nylon 50% polyester knitted wipe with laser cut edges. The unique properties of this wipe is that the fibers are very small and that the fibers are also wedge-shaped so every fiber acts like a micro size squeegee that gets underneath soils lift them up and holds every soil so this is a very very strong cleaning wipe.
Then we have our polyester wipes, our highest performing polyester wipe is a heat cut knitted polyester wipe 100% polyester synthetic material so the fibers theoretically go from one side of the other no loose fibers any possible loose fibers are sealed in the edges with by cutting it with a hot knife. Then we have our conventionally cut wipes and these are just cut with a knife for some applications that don't necessarily need that high degree of performance from a laser cut wipe or heat cut wipe. Our polyester wipes come in two weights, we have a heavyweight, heavy duty wipe and then we also have a standard weight which is a little more economical and it depends on what you need as a user you know high absorbency or economy or high degree of cleanliness we have the wipes that will meet those requirements.
The next wipe we have in our lineup is our is our blend or nonwoven blend of polyester and cellulose and this wipe really gets the properties of both of polyester and the cellulose- the best properties of each. The cellulose gives it good solvency and strong cleaning strength and the polyester gives it good wet strength and then a high degree of cleanliness that holds the wipe together and it's also economical.
The next wipe we have is a cotton wipe and cotton isn't really the best wipe for cleanroom or for most cleanroom applications because the fibers are of irregular length. However cotton can handle the high temperatures required in some cases whereas the synthetics like polyester might melt or might degrade with the high temperatures- the cotton will hold up to these high temperatures so it's kind of a special wipe for special applications.
Then the last wipe I have here is a wipe that's unique to Chemtronics and this is our black ESD static dissipative wipe so this wipe is a cleanroom polyester with static dissipative fibers woven through it and so when this is used to wipe it will dissipate static and also not generate any charges either. It’s a polyester wipe, so it's clean and it's laser cut which takes it to another degree of cleanliness. The other use for this is as an inspection wipe most dust is light colored so when you use a white wipe you can't necessarily see how clean it is, but with a black wipe you can see how much dust it picks up so this this wipe functions as an inspection wipe, as a static dissipative wipe, and just a high quality clean room wipes.
